London Graduate Fashion Week

I was so excited to be asked again by London Graduate Fashion Week to go back and run stage B. I was given ten student makeup artists to train and look after so they were able to re create my chosen makeup designs.
I created and designed the looks using look sheets that each individual college sent to me, some of the catwalk shows had up to three looks each and forty five models.

2011 Graduate Fashion Week was sponsored by Rimmel Cosmetics, so for all the catwalk shows the makeup on the models was Rimmel.
Please take a look at how fabulous it was.

Every Spring and Autumn the National Wedding Shows come around and I always look forward to being apart of them. I work alongside some other fabulous makeup artist's who also work for celebrity makeup artist Ariane Poole throughout the show.
There is a main Catwalk Show at this event and all of us on Arianes makeup team spend the morning making up up the models to make sure there wedding perfect all day.
Here is a sneak peak of some of the beautiful models and dresses back stage

Maverick TV - Disney's - Get The Look

For three months I was lucky enough to work alongside the talented Electra Formosa as her personal makeup artist. Electra is an up and coming star on the Disney Channel creating new key trends for girls and boys around the globe.
You can catch Electra on 'Get the Look' on the Disney Channel.

London Graduate Fashion Week

My recent big adventure was in London where I worked London Graduate Fashion Week. I have worked on numerous fashion shows before but I've have never had my own team of make up artists to teach and manage at the same time.

For LGF week I was running Stage B. I was left in control of ten students  from the London Fashion College which luckily for me where amazing and all really good make up artists.
As a head makeup artist  it was my job to create the look for each catwalk show for each individual college. I was sent a look sheet from each producer then using Maybelline makeup, who sponsored the show, I was left to create the look for each one using the look sheets as a guide line. All of the looks varied from a complete nude blanked out canvas to dark smokey eyes and bright red lips.
When the models for each show started to arrive I would take one as my test model and demonstrate the look to my team of students, so they could re create the look to help memake sure the models had makeup, hair and outfits on in time for there show. It was completely hectic but every second was amazing.

It was a great experience and one I hope to be asked to do again next year. Take a look at all the fun we had!!!!!!

Testimonial from my girls!

My week at Graduate Fashion Week was rewarding and fun! The week was long and tiring, but such a valuable experience.

The team of Make Up artists I was working with worked well together. We were constantly helping each other out, and having a laugh, which is needed to keep motivated through out the day!

This was all helped by Make Up Artist Melissa Greening, who led the team. She was a pleasure to work with, so friendly, and made us all feel at ease instantly. I know i speak for everyone when I say that she made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. She has a bubbly personality, whilst still having a professional presence.
Above all, Melissa is lovely, down to earth, and talented. I hope to work with her again one day!

Love Natalie xx

Remember to check back and look at new things I have been working on.
Thank you

Hi I'm Melissa Greening a talented and experienced Freelance makeup artist from the West Midlands. I knew I wanted to be a makeup artist from the age of 7 when I used to become very excited about blue eyeshadow in those £9.99 sets from Argos. At the age of 16 I'd had enough of dreaming and decided to make my dream a reality and enrolled on a specialist Beauty course at College for two years. I then went on to manage a beauty salon for 5 years and although I loved working in the salon and meeting so many great people my passion was still makeup focused and I wanted to pursue the ultimate dream of becoming a professional full-time makeup artist.
I have been lucky enough to be trained by top celebrity makeup artist Ariane Poole who has appeared in various fashion magazines and worked with high profile celebrities, this has led me to work on many fantastic and exciting projects over the past year.
I have been able to build an amazing portfolio and have a career in an industry I really love and that I'm really passionate about. I've been able to travel, work on catwalk shows, TV shows, work with celebrities and real life brides.
Thank you for visiting my site and please take some time to look at some of my work. Remember to pop back whenever you get chance as this site will be regularly updated with exciting future projects.

London Fashion week

My latest big adventure was working at London Graduate Fashion Week from the 6th - 8th June. For the first time in my career I had to manage a team of ten Makeup artists and create makeup looks for each of the individual catwalk shows, some of the which also had up to four different looks.

Here are some images of the various make-up looks I created. Each college presented me with a "look book" which I then I adapted, I showed my vision to my team of students and we then re-created it on the models.

Check out the fabulous outfits from all the talented fashion students!
